New AI tool edits 3D meshes from a single image, bypassing manual voxel work
VecSet-Edit is the first pipeline to use a pre-trained Large Reconstruction Model to edit 3D meshes from a single image, avoiding the resolution limits of voxel methods.
Most 3D mesh editing tools rely on Gaussian Splatting or require labor-intensive voxel masks with limited resolution. VecSet-Edit takes a different path, using a pre-trained Large Reconstruction Model to produce high-fidelity mesh edits from a single image.
The approach removes the need for manual masking and delivers sharper results than voxel-based tools such as VoxHammer.
Why it mattersSingle-image 3D mesh editing could lower the barrier for CGI artists and game designers who currently need multi-view scans and specialist tools.
