NBN drops high-speed plan condition for fibre upgrades
Eligible FTTC premises can now request full fibre without first ordering a high-speed internet plan.
NBN removed its high-speed-plan condition for Fibre to the Curb customers seeking a full-fibre upgrade from 1 July. The change covers the 860,000-premise FTTC footprint, although individual addresses must qualify.
Previously, most residential customers needed a service based on the 100/40 Mbps wholesale tier or faster. NBN says 1.3 million customers have already shifted from copper-based connections.
